With the 8th graders preparing a performance on the life of the so-called “Joan of Arc of China,” it seemed a great opportunity for the 6th/7th grades to work on the story of Joan of Arc, and bring the stories of two women who fought to right the wrongs they were observing around them.

In 6th/ 7th grade, the students learn specific gestures called “soul gestures” in Eurythmy; those enable them to add to the already expected expressive gestures while performing a text, without feeling those feelings themselves; it is a great way for them to use their bodies to express feelings that they might not want to make visible if they were their own.
