Sixth Grade studying Ancient Rome- Today the class read the poem Horatius at the Bridge, 509 BCE, and drew pictures representing the poem. They acted out the legend of Romulus and Remus, twin brothers who were thought to be the children of the God Mars and the Vestal Virgin Rhea Silvia. The twins were placed into a basket and cast into the River Tiber. The twins miraculously survived and present a lesson in overcoming adversity.
