Marcella Kapsaroff has lived in Connecticut for more than 25 years, with her husband Chris, son Christopher, and young daughter, Izzy Jane. When she and her husband lived in New Haven, CT Marcella began her career as a nursery school teacher and her lifelong study of child development. In 2009 she was able to complete her BA in Liberal Arts and pursue an MA in Early Childhood Development at Sarah Lawrence College. In a wonderful twist of events, just as their grown son entered his junior year of college and she and her husband settled into being empty nesters, Marcella and her husband welcomed their second child! It was her young daughter that brought Marcella to Waldorf education. After enrolling her daughter in the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School Marcella decided to learn more about anthroposophy and Waldorf education. She has attended four semesters of the Steiner seminar at HVWS, has taken part in the One Year Part Time Practical Training in Biodynamics at the Pfeiffer Center in Spring Valley, NY, and is a current student of the Birth to Seven Teachers Program at Sophia’s Hearth in Keene, NH. Marcella’s second lifelong passion is gardening and horticulture and so she began the Biodynamic Gardening club at HVWS and volunteers with the Third Grade Garden.
