After spending seven years in the business world as a Manager, Market Support Specialist, and Sales Rep for Burroughs Corporation, Laura changed directions and received her MSW from Fordham University in 1990, before her second child was born. As a clinical social worker her experience included working with crack babies and foster mothers, at Yale University on the research floor supporting patients’ family members dealing with OCD and depression, and in Bridgeport at The Center for Women & Families of Eastern Fairfield County working with children of families in domestic violence situations.
Laura is also a graduate of Antioch University with a certificate in Waldorf Early Childhood Education. She has taught at HVWS for over 20 years as a kindergarten teacher, an assistant to nursery and kindergarten teachers, and for 5+ years as a parent-toddler teacher. She served on the board of the Rose Garden Waldorf kindergarten in Georgetown, CT from 1995 to 1998. In 2015, she received her HEART (Healing Education And Remedial Training) certification with Rachel Ross. She has been the school’s Early Movement Integration Therapist since then.
