A Typical Day at Waldorf Summer Camp |
Each day is different, but all involve fun, friends, and learning, and plenty of time outside!
The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School’s day summer camp consists of two age groups: The Explorers (ages 3-8) and the Artists (ages 9-14). There are always plenty of fun activities packed into a day here, mixed with down time in honor of the lazy days of summer – or we like to say: “Summer the way it used to be.”
Camp runs Monday- Friday from 9am to 3pm; Extended Care is available*.
The Explorers will learn to trust themselves and each other while interacting with nature, gardening, and creating different crafts using natural materials. There will also be plenty of water (and mud!) play. There are eight sessions, each featuring different themes. Each week is $285 per camper. Please note that campers must be potty trained to attend.
The Artists are older and up for bigger challenges, so our summer camp provides plenty of opportunity for campers to challenge themselves physically and mentally, while discovering new things about themselves along the way! There are seven session, and six themes. Each session is $285 per camper except for the Circus Arts session, which runs over weeks 1 and 2. The cost for this special 2-week session is $590.
Housatonic Valley Waldorf School invites you to review our COVID-19 policies, posted on the Camp page. Please do not hesitate to contact our camp director, Marcela Perez (mperez@waldorfct.org) with any questions about our day summer camp. We welcome kids from Newtown, CT; Bethel, CT; Danbury, CT; and throughout Connecticut and nearby New York state to sign up today!
*Extended Care is available between 8am and 9am, as well as from 3pm to 6pm. The cost is $10 per hour payable by the week. You must register in advance.
