Annual Appeal

2013-2014

A message from Tom Storrier, Vice President, HVWS Board of Trustees:

Last weekend 14 family members came together at my home to bake pies as our mothers had done for us so long ago. Baking pies was the hook but our sense of our family was the underlying draw that brought us together. We not only ate well, but we all grew closer as a result of reaching out to one another and sharing our common bond.

As part of the Housatonic Valley Waldorf School community, you and I share a commonality as well. Together we support children in an education that we know is positively conducive to a child’s growth and development. HVWS needs your financial support. Our tuition does not cover our costs and it is up to you and others like you to contribute to our school to keep it growing and prospering. HVWS has made great strides in the past year. Here are some of our accomplishments to date:
  • Hiring 4 new class teachers
  • Employing extensive new security measures
  • Launching  new web site
  • Reconfiguring the Administrative staff including the hiring of an Administrator
  • Continuing campus and facility improvements
HVWS is constantly looking to improve upon itself while also inspiring our students. This past spring HVWS graduated the largest class ever and these graduates have all made the transition to other schools seamlessly.

We all know that this education is not free. We are all committed to its health and growth, just as we are to our students, and our families. The Board of Trustees as well as the Administration and the Faculty have all contributed to this year’s Annual Appeal and have reached 100% participation in their support of HVWS. We are looking to be able to say the same of our school community. Only you can make that happen. Please click on link at the top of this page to make your tax-deductible donation. Consider a recurring donation or giving in honor or in memory of someone.

Re-imagine education and affirm your belief in a child’s potential. Your generous contribution helps provide HVWS students with the skills to achieve dignity, integrity, and a sense of meaning in their lives.

Thank you for your consideration of HVWS.

With warm regards,

Tom Storrier
Vice-President, HVWS
